1. What brought me there Study, adventure, work.

2. Must try meal Xiao long bao, Sichuan and Hunan dishes, curry baozi, hairy crab, Peking duck.

3. You should not miss visiting or going to
In Beijing: Wangfuging St. for exotic food like scorpion, worms, Forbidden City and Summer Palace
In Shanghai: Nanjing Road, Huaihai Road (for European architecture), Xintiandi, Century Park
Silk Road: Dunhuang, Turpan, Urumuqi and Kashgar...4 seasons in 8 days!

4. What I saw Old and new rolled into one.

5. Most awesome thing I saw Decent playgrounds and park. People dancing in the park.

6. Thrilling budget find If you are looking for cheap high-end brands (not the fake ones), there are lots of overrun shops in Shanghai.

7. Notable tips from locals Most local restaurants don't accept tips. Imagine, taxi drivers don't take tips, too!

8. What I expected That they are very traditional in culture. It's the exact opposite!

9. Must avoid traveler's trap Tourist guide telling you that the jade or pearls are cheap and real! Better not buy.
