CHE FRANCISCO SHARES HER SWITZERLAND VISIT

Che Francisco on Basel, Switzerland
Chemist

1. What brought me there Business trip.

2. Must-try meal White asparagus with Hollandaise sauce (harvest comes only during spring time).

3. You should not miss visiting or going to Weekend market at the Rathaus (farmers bring in their fresh produce like, veggies, fruits, cheese, etc.).

4. What I saw A small city trying to remain authentic as it can, despite the influence of it's neighbors - France & Germany.

5. Most awesome thing I saw Fasnacht festival. It's an annual event where people wear colorful monstrous-looking masks and parade in the streets to drive evil spirits of winter in order for spring to begin.

6. Thrilling budget find Walking along the trails of historical landmarks is free and the best way to explore the city. If you're staying in a hotel, they will give you a Mobility ticket that will give you free access to use all the public transport available within Zones 1 & 2.

7. Notable tips from locals All shops are closed on Sundays, so you better stock up on your grocery. But if it's really necessary to buy, then the Migros store in the central bahnhof is open 24 hours/7 days a week.

8. What I expected Industrial, dingy-looking city.

9. Must-avoid traveler's trap If you are looking for an authentic Asian restaurant, Mister Wong (though not so expensive) is not worth going to.
