1. What brought me there for pleasure and bonding with my family who came from Doha to visit and spend vacation with us in the USA.
2. You should not miss going to
Alpine Magic Mountain - offers whole year round of activities such as mountain ride, lifts to the top overlooking it's natural beauty, snow slides, go cart, mini golf and water slides.
Snow Summit - even if you don't know how to ski or do not want to go snowboarding, you would still have fun on the snow. Awesome view, too!
The Lakes - refreshing air, abundant ducks around, view overlooking the mountains.
Different resorts and spas - each have their own amenities like fishing, boating, swimming, and walking trail etc. There is a camping ground, too.
Going up to Big Bear is one hour drive through a winding road with great views for sightseeing.
3. Thrilling budget find The prices to have fun, play and for the rides are very reasonable and sometimes are free. If you are staying in a lodge or cabin, cooking and hosting barbecue parties are allowed.
4. Notable tips we did not bring food but I could not resist having a barbecue so we went to the supermarket which is close by, just a few miles away.
5. What I expected my first visit there, I thought there would be a lot of bears around (lol!). Actually, there were some at the camping site but they have big storage for the bears' food to prevent them from destroying the place and disturbing the visitors. But, never leave food in your car or else the bears would break in.
