SHOE INSPECTION AT NAIA EASED

This is welcome news to all passengers in the departure areas of all NAIA terminals. The Ninoy Aquino International Airports has relaxed its policy on shoe inspections, The Philippine Daily Inquirer said. The NAIA began implementing the new policy last November 1, 2012.

In the new policy, the shoe inspections at the final security checkpoints in the departure areas of all NAIA terminals will no longer be mandatory.

However, there are several exceptions to the new policy. Carriers bound for the US will continue to implement shoe inspection at their boarding areas and this security check will become mandatory whenever the NAIA is placed under a "high alert level."
